Are you interested in gardening or fresh produce? Are you looking for a way to serve your community?
We are recruiting for a couple of very fun positions! Our current Volunteer Garden Coordinator April Bader is in her last season with us, and we are looking for a new coordinator. We hope a new volunteer can start during this season, to work alongside April and learn the ropes to prepare for next season. This position is seasonal, March- October and offers a $300 a month stipend. The full job description is below.
Also, new this summer, we are partnering with CTK Foodshare and Farm to offer a mini farmer’s market style food share spot in front of the Resource Center. This volunteer will coordinate the market, setting up table and tents, receiving and displaying food, helping guests, and breaking down after each market. The market will run weekly on Thursday afternoons from probably the last week of June to the first week or so of October. The full job description is below.

Beach Bingo 2024 a HUGE success!
We are feeling so grateful to our generous community for their support of our mission by attending or contributing to our Beach Bingo fundraiser. In total, we raised $11,206.47! BIG thanks to our sponsors Puget Sound Energy, Ferndale Grocery Outlet, Profusion Web Solutions, and Mt Baker Imaging. And so many businesses and individuals donated an amazing variety of Bingo prizes for our winners- we are grateful to each of you for making our Bingo prize table POP!
We also want to thank Mayor Greg Hansen and James Pitzer for cooking for us. Thank you to our Events Committee for their dedicated work to fine tune this event. And thanks to each volunteer who will be donating time to make the event a success. Every minute of time given is appreciated!

Our Safe Parking Work Pivots
We’re excited to share a significant update regarding our Safe Parking Initiative. Initially, our vision was to establish a congregate safe parking program. However, challenges such as finding a suitable location and securing sustainable funding led us to rethink our approach. We are now pivoting to provide personalized, goal-oriented support for individuals living in vehicles. Visit the Safe Parking page for complete details and plans for this important work.
Do you need water bill assistance?
Do you need assistance paying for your City of Ferndale Water/Sewer bill? Please apply to our program! The income limits are high ($4,625 a month for a family of 4), and the grant amounts are generous. Click HERE for more information and to apply.
